The University of Surrey is an international university with a world-class teaching and research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward thinking, our heritage shows a recurring theme of
doing things differently – and achieving notable results. As a result of our new strategic plan and future vision, the School of Biosciences and Medicine in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is recruiting an exceptional individual to the following full time academic position to continue to add to the successes that the School, Faculty and University have already enjoyed: Teaching Fellow in Nutrition and Dietetics
The University of Surrey has an enviable reputation for education in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, having maintained top 2 league table positions for our discipline for the last 3 years and most recently (November 2017) winning the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Teaching & Research in Food & Nutrition. The post holder is expected to complement our existing strengths in nutrition and dietetics and to be able to collaborate with colleagues across the School of Biosciences and Medicine and the wider Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, to deliver the best possible learning experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This post represents part of our planned future growth and development as a School. It has been created to enhance the teaching of our very successful undergraduate programme in dietetics as well as the very popular MSc programme in Human Nutrition. If you are a dynamic, forward thinking team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and an ambition to achieve personally then please get in touch.
Successful applicants will have a PhD in a relevant subject and bring a record of achievement in scholarship. They will take pride in providing high quality teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, working to improve methods of delivery and assessment by exploring, contributing to the development of, and embracing new approaches to pedagogy. In return we can offer an energetic and forward thinking working environment, leisure facilities and access to a variety of staff development opportunities.
